Bio

I was born in 1977 near Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Hungary. I became interested in fine arts at an early age and over the years I have learned about the art and oil painting from several masters. I am constantly improving myself in the field of figurative geometry through individual training. In fine art, both subject matter and technique are important to me. In terms of technique, my role models are the classical Hungarian and European masters, from the Renaissance to the present day. In terms of subject matter and its treatment (stories told with geometric abstract elements), I am influenced by the classical Russian avant-garde, especially the paintings of El Liszickij, Lyubov Popova and Olga Rozanova. It is important to me that my work has a sense of tension and calm, because the tension is that makes balance alive. To do this, I use axonometry and colour perspective, mixed colours and their saturation, tonal value, proportions, the subtle soft transition of light and shadow. In 2024, I started working with reproduced graphics, which are based on my painting. I make just minimal changes to the digitised image, enhancing its graphic character, so the imperfections of the painting and the texture of the canvas are preserved in the print. The archival pigment prints are museum quality, on 310 gramm Fabriano paper, in various sizes, in small editions.
